There she is
There she is

The 43 rd Faro Concentratao Motorcycle Rally just concluded. I was surprised at the size and scope of the event. I also marveled at the camaraderie and fun had by the other 25,000 in attendance. During the daylight hours it was wholesome family fun. I enjoyed seeing how gregarious the Portuguese are. Bikes of all sizes and shapes to be seen all the way out to several horizons, although the electric units could be counted on just one hand. My BF4 prototype competed in the Strange category of the judged Show. The first place award for each category was 500 euro, so not chump change. The long and the short of it is that these are not my people. They love that petrol smell. That was a lot of preparation and a lot of

emotionally draining effort for what looks to be a misfire. I did talk to a lot of people and maybe someone will circle back to give me a boost. I guess this is what it means to show up, because you never know what’s around the corner.

The rally was hosted by Moto Clube Faro. At 900 members, it is the largest of the three motorcycle clubs in Faro (that I know about anyway). Motorcycle clubs are a big thing throughout Europe. Faro’s location at the southern end of the N2 National Road, which is one of the world’s greatest motorcycle rides, helps to make this rally the largest in Europe, and the proximity of the airport also brings in international enthusiasts.

I need to find the Light-EV set and their rallies. There are several LEV trade shows around Europe every year but the tickets are expensive, not to mention the cost of a booth and what it would take to get the

prototype to the venue. My cheapskate upbringing betrays me at this point.
