I tried to catch things up a bit, but, of course, was not entirely successful. So much is rolling around in my head. Today, Monday January 6, 2025, my brave husband started an immersive class in Portuguese (in person). He didn't take a language in school, so I think this very brave (and necessary). I will need to review my previous learning and restart with my delightful teacher Cristina, who lives in Santarem (not close, but not far) via Skype or whatever medium she prefers.


Random thoughts:

  • The dogs are really doing well. They seem to understand, after all the chaos that surrounded leaving, that we are staying here.

  • Our apartment is furnished almost entirely by things that aren't ours. I know I will be soooo happy when our stuff arrives. OK. we don't care who knows. Scott is quite the snorer. I have a tendency to kick in my sleep. King-sized beds would not work in this apartment. So what I'm saying is we have our own/separate bedrooms. The dogs mostly sleep with me. I added a mattress topper and am sleeping MUCH better. Scott adapted his bed to make it more comfy, too. Don't worry. We can more than accommodate visitors.

  • I met a woman on a Portugal FB group who recently moved to a town nearby from California. On Saturday we met IRL at the Faro Mall. Hooray! We ho


I interrupt this broadcast with the following news. Scott just came home with a Pickle Ball game set. WHOA. I just gotta stop now.
