Progress. And We Love Having Visitors!

My buddy (Pampered Chef) Paula and her husband, Roy, visited us Friday and Saturday. I hadn’t had an opportunity to meet Roy before. The 2 of them moved to Panama about a year and a half ago! Currently they are doing some European travel after having taken a repositioning Virgin Atlantic Cruise across the ocean. Groovy!

One thing Paula and I did was go to the cool little Ginja shop near the old part of Faro. We took Hope there when she was here, too! Here are a couple of photos. Two funny/not funny things…. First – funny: We sat on this wooden bench for a little while near the front of the shop. I don’t think Paula saw this, but a little girl, maybe 8-10 years old came skipping up from the back of the shop and stopped short when she saw us. I asked her if she wanted to sit there, but I’m guessing she didn’t speak English. She did an about-face and sat at a table all the way in the back. Tickled me a bit. The not-funny thing is after we got back, I remembered that I had no memory of paying!! I went back on Sunday to do so, but they weren’t open. Good gravy marie. Somebody please help me remind me to do this!!! YIKES!

Paula told us about a very cool app that works all over the world that I’ve been debating about telling you all about. Her daughter introduced her to it in Wash., DC. It’s called “Too Good To Go”. What do it be?? I’m just going to copy from AI, because it’s accurate and easier than trying to explain and type out myself:

I tried it out yesterday. I paid 2.99Euro to get a surprise bag from the Eva Hotel. Here’s what it had in it:

I also paid 2.99 Euro for another surprise bag from a pastelaria that was in the Municiple Market. Scott went to get it and sadly, could not locate the place. So we didn’t get that one. I’m satisfied enough that I will try it some more. Download the app and give it a try why don’t you?

We’re pretty excited that our shipped “stuff” is too arrive in Lisbon on Wednesday! Global International will bring it to us in Faro, all the way up to the apartment AND unpack it! Whooohooo! It’s going to be fun to see our own things after sending it away in November! I’m WAY excited to get my knives and other Pampered Chef tools as well as our art! Oh boy!

OK, Scott is walking the dogs so I need to look at Cookidoo and see what the Bimby can make for us tonight. Speaking of that… Roy made us some awesome veggie curry Saturday night and I made the rice in the Bimby. Fun!
